Numerous CRC members were on the CITA Senior Team that competed in the USTA/Midwest Section Senior Team Championships May 20-21 at Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. Congratulations to CRC pro Kathy Gordon and her partner Amy Moore for winning the women’s 35 division. This is their fifth consecutive championship! Congratulations to CRC members John Moorin and Steve Pittman for winning the men’s 50 division. Barb Hassell and Helen Petersen finished second in 65 women’s division. The CITA team finished third.

 The 13 districts comprising the USTA Midwest Section play a round robin format. This competition is an annual event. Thanks again to Dave Resley for being men’s captain and Laurie Lubs for coordinating the women.

All players more than 50 years old are invited to play mixed doubles every Sunday from 4:30-6:30 pm. The cost is $12 a player in the winter and $9 a player in the summer (Memorial Day—Labor Day). Non-members are always welcome. All play is indoors.

Contact Nancy Scifres (317/719-6712) no later than Wednesday of the week in which you want to play.


The Men’s League will play Thursday evenings from 6-9 pm. All levels of players are invited to participate. The team captains arrange matches and try to pair players with similar abilities. Registration for the league has already begun. Check at the front desk for registration forms and details. Greg Griffey is the League Coordinator.                                         



Platform memberships allow members use of the platform tennis courts only. It does not include the use of tennis courts, workout facility, or pool area. Cost for a paddle membership is $120 and good from September 5, 2017-September 3, 2018.

Platform tennis courts will rent for $14 per hour. Players may reserve courts up to two weeks in advance. Courts must be canceled 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. (In the event of inclement weather, less than 24 hours in advance.)



We are offering a Play Pass for paddle $100. This pass allows members (Platform or Regular) to reserve court time up to one week in advance. The pass pays for the holder’s court time only. The other players on the court are still responsible for their share. Players buying a pass must either be a CRC member or a Highland, Woodstock or Meridian Hills member AND be playing in the league.

CRC is offering a FREE (one time only) introductory platform tennis lesson to CRC members who have never played. Any group of three or four players can register for these lesson. Rules, strategy, position and screen play will all be addressed during the one hour clinic.


 For parents of all junior competitive program players (including Satellite I & II, Junior Challengers, Junior Grand Prix, Junior Tour, Grand Prix and Girls High School):

Payment for the programs MUST be made BEFORE starting to play in the program! This applies to all players in all programs and for every twelve week session (fall, winter and spring). If your child starts late, the amount will be pro-rated for the remainder of the 12 week session but still must be paid before starting to play. 

You will NOT receive a bill in the mail so please contact the front desk to make your payment – thank you!
